Austin Butler is currently riding the high of Dune Part Two‘s success, where the actor plays the menacing Harkonnen enforcer Feyd-Rautha. While critics and audiences are praising the actor’s breathtaking portrayal of the character, the internet has taken a trip down memory lane, reliving one of Butler’s most hilarious performances to date.
Between playing the King of Rock and Roll and Genocidal Maniacs, Butler’s range knows no bounds. This is very clearly depicted in one clip of the actor from the hit Disney TV series Hannah Montana, starring Miley Cyrus as the titular character, who led a double life as an ordinary girl and pop singer.

Fear might be the mind-killer, but no one told Toby, Butler’s character on the show. This one hilarious scene from the Disney Channel Original show has had fans howling with laughter. What adds to the hilarity of the situation is that most fans have seen Butler in the menacing role of Feyd-Rautha, the cold-blooded member of the Harkonnen clan, hellbent on destroying the Atreides. And then, they are greeted with this scene from the Miley Cyrus show on the internet:

In the clip, Austin Butler plays Toby, a date that Miley has with her friend. However, when the gang decides to sit down and watch a horror flick, Toby has what can only be described as a severe breakdown at what is being depicted on screen, destroying any connection Miley and him might have had. He also scatters the bowl of popcorn and hides under the throw when Miley’s father hilariously shows up with a chainsaw after working with some hardware.
Fans cannot seem to be getting enough of the clip
When one takes the time to contrast Butler’s performance in Hannah Montana and compare it to what the actor delivered in Dune Part Two, it becomes quite clear that the actor had a gift from the get-go. Being able to play hilariously scared, and gleefully menacing without either feeling over the top is an ability that takes years to cultivate, and yet Butler managed it with ease. However, it also becomes a pretty hilarious juxtaposition, and fans could not agree more.

Fans on the internet have taken to not only appreciating his acting skills but also how funny he can be. Given his acting chops, it is no surprise that he can pull off hilarious and serious roles so effortlessly. The actor not only has a bright future in the industry but with Dune Part Two, could also have an Oscar nomination in the cards. Will the Academy recognize his talent? Only time will tell.
