Hollywood star Jeremy Allen White, who is turning heads with his dashing Calvin Klein ad campaign, didn’t even subscribe to the network of his breakthrough series. The 2011 show Shameless, starred White as Philip ‘Lip’ Gallagher, a member of the dysfunctional Gallagher family. Hence, his performance in the series derived wide recognition, encouraging roles in award-winning shows like The Bear.
However, the actor once revealed that while he cherishes his time as Lip Gallagher, he didn’t actively watch the show. In fact, he watched it illegally, and alone. It doesn’t sound right, for a dramedy that can be watched with a full family, but that’s how White approached the show.

The 32-year-old actor made recent appearances in The Iron Claw, Fingernails and has continued with his culinary flair as Carmen ‘Carmy’ Benzatto in The Bear. However, Jeremy Allen White’s former show, Shameless, which aired for a decade with 11 seasons wasn’t on his priority watchlist. Talking to the Chicago Tribune, the actor once discussed his self-criticism habits after watching any film or show he’d worked on.
Speaking of the show which was predominantly shot in Chicago neighborhoods, also where White lives, in the North Lawndale area, wasn’t much of a big deal for the residents or himself as well. The New Yorker revealed that the people were proud to have Shameless filmed there but wouldn’t bother to purchase a Showtime subscription. Hence, downloaded the episodes illegally from the internet. The Fingernails actor said,
“I don’t watch (‘Shameless’) until there is some distance. Otherwise I’ll get too critical of myself and drive myself crazy. I’ll watch in a dark room alone in the fetal position and maybe have a notebook and write things down …”
Surprisingly, White himself admitted to following suit with his neighbors, watching Shameless illegally, due to a cable connection deficiency. Besides, he reviewed his acting with a notebook by his side. Other cast members of the show include Fiona’s Emmy Rossum, Carl Gallagher’s Ethan Cutkosky, and Kevin Ball’s Steve Howey.

Recent news on White’s whereabouts would leave anyone jaw-dropped. The actor was the face of Calvin Klein’s latest ad campaign for Spring 2024. Shot in New York, his home, White appeared in his shredded frame, donning the brand’s apparel, depicting his heartfelt connection to the Big Apple.

The ad showcased White working out in CK’s underwear, against a city-scape backdrop. Eternally a New Yorker, the Iron Claw star had moved to Chicago for his longest-running character in Shameless but has made his way back to NYC.
