The Marvel Cinematic Universe remains one of the most significant franchises in the history of Cinema, as it brought about a seismic shift in the world of not just Superhero movies, but movies in general as well.
Since its inception in 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been the most successful series of films in a very long time. However, due to its sheer size and sense of scale owing to the franchise’s incredible number of movies, plot holes are not unexpected.

The Ant-Man Trilogy Is One Of The Better Received Movies In The MCU
The Ant-Man trilogy debuted back in 2015 and it stars Paul Rudd as the protagonist. The first film as well as Ant-Man And The Wasp were generally loved by fans due to its blend of sci-fi and quick-witted humour – a staple of Marvel before it became trite.
Shockingly enough, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was absolutely brutalized by fans and critics alike after it released earlier this year. It signaled the true decline for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as it ended up getting a Rotten Tomatoes score of 46% and it was largely panned for its incoherent storytelling, among other things.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s Major Plot Hole Might End Up Ruining The MCU
The Ant-Man film series has consistently incorporated references to the Quantum Realm, but it was in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania that they actually delved into the topic properly. However, the handling of quantum time dilation was clearly not done well at all as the movie only made the issues worse.
In Ant-Man and the Wasp, Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet Van Dyne aged conventionally over her 30-year stay in the Quantum Realm, as opposed to Scott Lang’s five hours in which five years passed in the real world. Shockingly enough, in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, it was suggested that time dilation was no longer a concern, complicating the established rules governing the Quantum.
This only served to worsen the major plot hole in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward, as it is now apparent the plot in future films will just not make sense in the grand scheme of things. Regardless, we’ll have to see if Marvel can fix this mistake somehow.
