The partnership was seen as a recipe for success, but somewhere along the way, a significant blunder led the food chain to its eventual demise. Consequently, many now wonder what exactly went wrong and how this highly anticipated venture turned into a disappointment.

What Went Wrong With Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Planet Hollywood?
Beyond just promoting their movies, the two rival stars Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger who were not often seen together back in the day, were actively involved in the restaurant chain’s pop-ups and events, enthusiastically endorsing the food chain from every angle.
Schwarzenegger and Stallone fully committed to the business opportunity, were making appearances left and right to ensure its success. While they were prominent faces, they were not alone, celebrities such as Demi Moore and Bruce Willis also went all in on the opportunity.
So the question remains, what went wrong with the venture that the two biggest stars of Hollywood seemed so sure about?
Although the food chain was all the rage back in the day, it fell as quickly as it had risen. One major problem was maintaining and managing the numerous branches that sprang up in such a short time. In addition to that, amidst all the buzz and celebrity charisma, hid a mediocre food chain and its food wasn’t worth coming back for seconds.
All because the individuals who were at the helm at that time didn’t have a passion for food, to say the least. It can be argued that it was strictly a good business opportunity for them. Consequently, the celebrities involved didn’t do much to improve the menu either.
All the power it had came from the glitz and glamour. Stripped away from that, it couldn’t compete in the big leagues.
Planet Hollywood Made Enemies Into Friends!
Before Planet Hollywood, the two stars didn’t see eye to eye. Only after spending a considerable amount of time together while promoting Planet Hollywood did they realize it was meant to be. On The Graham Norton Show, as first reported by NME, Arnold Schwarzenegger revealed,
“We were movie rivals, but we took the competitiveness to the extreme – we each had to have the best body, we had to kill more people in our films, and we had to have the biggest guns. It got out of control, and we tried to derail each other.”
He then continued,
“Then, when we both invested in Planet Hollywood, we started flying around the world together to promote it and we became fantastic friends. He is a great human being, and we are now inseparable.”
Now, even though Planet Hollywood went belly up, what Stallone and Schwarzenegger truly gained from the deal was a genuine, lifelong bromance that no money could ever buy!
