For decades The Simpsons has been a popular TV show that has entertained viewers with its irrelevant humour and unpredictable storyline. With many lovable characters, the show has gained quite a bit of an audience that has made the series their daily staple of life. However, despite the humor and fun, the show has spooked an equal amount of viewers as well, thanks to its uncanny prediction of several future events.

1. The Donald Trump Presidency
In Season 11, Episode 17 titled Bart to the Future accurately predicted Donald Trump getting to be the President of the United States in 2016, when Lisa gets elected and states, “We inherited quite the budget crunch from President Trump.” While the line did not refer to his presidential campaign, his getting elected and then running for President again in 2024 has made the line famous.
2. Correct Super Bowl Predictions
Since Season 3’s Episode 14 titled Lisa the Greek, the makers have tried to predict the winners of the Super Bowl and astonishingly, they have received much success. They have accurately predicted the winners year after year, making the prophetic prowess of the show come true.
3. Disney Buys 20th Century Fox
In Season 10, Episode 5 of The Simpsons’ When You Dish Upon a Star, a shot shows the 20th Century Fox logo with a small ‘A Division of Walt Disney Co.’ written on it. The text was purely for fun, wanting to make fun of its parent company but in 2019 that really became a reality.
4. Smartwatches
Season 6 of the show featured in Episode 19, titled Lisa’s Wedding, an uncanny resemblance to the modern smartwatches of today when Lisa’s boyfriend uses a similar device. This eventually became true in the early 2010s.
5. AutoCorrect
In Lisa on Ice, episode 8 of Season 6 had Dolph writing a memo on his Apple Newton that automatically deciphered to something else thanks to his botched-up writing. Certain sources allege that later the same episode was used as a reference to develop Apple’s new iPhone keyboard.
6. Siphoning Cooking Grease for Money
In Season 10, Episode 1 Lard of the Dance, featured Homer trying his hand at yet again one of his schemes to get rich ASAP, which involved stealing cooking grease and selling it off for profit. The scheme later became true when it turned out that inspired by the show, thieves were doing this for profit.

7. FIFA Corruption And Scandal
In Season 25 of The Simpsons, Episode 16 You Don’t Have to Live Like a Referee, Homer gets into the game as a referee thanks to FIFA’s massive corruption. It also had Germany winning the World Cup, which happened that year, and in 2015, the headquarters of FIFA were raided for corruption charges.
8. Siegfried And Roy Tiger Attack
Episode 10 $pringfield of Season 5 featured Gunter and Ernsy (a direct reference to the celebrated magician duo Siegfried and Roy) who were attacked by their tiger Anastasia. And 10 years later, Roy was attacked by a tiger while working.
9. Video Chats
Lisa’s Wedding, episode 19 of Season 6 would be a groundbreaker for its technological features. The episode also featured video chat via screens, which later became true during the 2010s and the Covid-19 pandemic.
10. 9/11 Predictions
Season 9, Episode 1 The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson, featured a magazine cover with the price of a trip to New York City and behind it Twin Towers, resembling the numbers, 9 and 11. This crazy coincidence was probably one of the spookiest ones.
