Mark Wahlberg On His Painful Journey of Tattoo Removal

Having once sported eight or nine tattoos that covered his body, Wahlberg narrated the painful story of removing these tattoos. The Departed star shared that he decided to remove his tattoos only out of his growing maturity and sensibility. The Fighter star added that contrary to the recommended time frame of five to seven years, with treatments spread over multiple visits, Wahlberg opted for a more accelerated approach. Surprisingly, he underwent the removal process in around seven months by undertaking the scrutinizing pain.

“I had, like, eight or nine. They went all the way around my neck, my stomach, my arms, my back, my leg…It took me five years to get all of the tattoos removed. And it’s dreadfully painful. 1000% cause it’s like hot bacon grease getting flicked on you over and over again. Now hopefully they have developed technology more and more but when I got it done I was trying to get it done before I shot The Fighter and the dermatologist told me to 5-7 visits and it was like 5 to 7 years, and I went once a month.”
