It was 2021 when Dorfman sat in an interview with TIME and came out as a transgender. Welcoming the change, the world appreciated Dorfman’s coming out as a woman, and the actress continued to spend her days in private.
In an Instagram post, Tommy Dorfman revealed that she had secretly married her best friend and partner Elise in the fall of 2023! Showcasing a photo of their dresses and Dorfman and Elise holding hands, the actress revealed that they eloped together and did not tell anyone except their photographer who photographed them at the end of 2023.

However, the case doesn’t end there. Dorfman revealed that she (and her partner Elise) bought their own dresses. “A few weeks ago we decided to say let’s celebrate this our way, so we we something for @voguemagazine and @vogueweddings because we love each other and the world should know!!!! ok???!” the caption further continued.
This isn’t the first time that Tommy Dorfman has found herself getting married. Before Elise, Dorfman was married to Peter Zurkuhlen but the pair had a divorce in 2021. Well, the tale of romance continued between Dorfman and Elise, and here’s how the lovers found themselves on the road to marriage.

As per her interview with Vogue, Dorfman and her spouse Elise met on Hinge. Talking about their whirlwind romance, the tale is indeed a meet-cute tale of lovers who met via online dating.
“The first few months of our relationship set the tone for how we would eventually get married. We got engaged two months into dating. To our credit, we waited a full 12 months before moving in together, so you can’t say we U-Hauled”
Dorfman further continued,
“That’s the thing about falling in love though; your responsibility barometer isn’t always where it should be. Love, for us, required that nauseating combination of naivete, delusion, and fate.”
