To compete with the growing Marvel’s Cinematic Universe, Sony has launched it’s own Spider-Verse universe. The universe’s first movie will be next year’s Venom. It then will be followed by Silver & Black, another Spider-Man side character film, whose filming will start next year in Atlanta.

Silver & Black is now in the pre-production stage, The movie will center around Felicia Hardy/Black Cat and Silver Sablinova/Silver Sable. So far, there have been no casting announcements.

There is an expectation that the spin-off will begin filming once Venom wraps production in February, but we haven’t uncovered a production start date yet. The Untitled Spider-Man 2 is on track to begin filming starting in June, which gives the impression Silver will wrap around that time.

Gina Prince-Bythewood (Love & Basketball) is signed on to direct. She also co-wrote the script with Lisa Joy (Westworld) and Christopher Yost (Thor: Ragnarok).
