Why Hawkeye Is Absent From ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ Marketing

With less than a month until Avengers: Infinity War arriving in theaters, there has been little information surrounding what Hawkeye’s role will be in the film and why he has been absent from most promotional material for the feature. In an interview with Total Film, co-directors Joe and Anthony Russo indicate that there is a reason Hawkeye has not shown up in any promotional material for the much anticipated film.

When asked why Hawkeye has not been featured in trailers for the film, Anthony Russo offered a potentially less-than reassuring reason:

“All will be explained when people see the movie. It’s all tied into the story.”

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos.
