For the last few months there has been a wide-range of speculation as to when DC Entertainment would launch their upcoming DC Universe streaming service. All points implied that it would be sometime this summer and now we know that this is accurate based upon an announcement from DC Entertainment community manager Dani Snow. According to Snow, the service will launch in late August and it will have a much wider range of content for fans to enjoy from comics, TV shows, and movies.
Snow made a guest appearance on the James Bonding podcast, to which she made the exciting revelation about the service at the 1:27:30 mark:
“We are about to launch [I think in late August], our DC digital platform which will be a hub for all things DC.”

Currently, it is known that the service will be launching five original shows that will be exclusive to subscribers. Those shows are Titans, Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Young Justice: Outsiders, and Harley Quinn. It is likely that Titans will be the first of the five shows to premiere on DC Universe, as it currently is in production and is expected to come later this year which would make sense if the service is to launch in late-August.
Either way, DC die-hards will get to experience this service fairly soon and sometime within this summer. As previously stated within the podcast Snow stated that at the moment DC Entertainment is working on placing a majority of DC content from the back-catalog like movies and TV shows. So, it will be very likely that customers will get to relive the glory days of the DC Animated Universe with Batman The Animated Series, Static Shock, and Justice League Unlimited.
