Sony Developing Spider-Man Spin-Off ‘Silk’

The Spider-Verse continues to grow, as Amy Pascal and her production company Pascal Pictures are developing a film based on Spider-Man supporting character, Silk.

Created by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, Cindy Moon was bitten by the same radioactive spider that bit Peter Parker, and like him she received arachnid-esque abilities. The character became a fan favorite, even receiving her own comic book series.

Pascal is also producing the Spider-Man spinoffs Venom, and Silver & Black, although the latter was put on hold.

Cindy’s character was introduced in Spider-Man: Homecoming. It’s still unclear, however, if these spin-off films take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Directed by Ruben Fleischer, Venom stars Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott.

One of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.

Sony‘s Venom hits theaters on October 5th.
