New photos from The CW‘s Arrow season seven premiere episode “Inmate 4587” have been released. The photos show the “new normal” that some members of Team Arrow will undergo in this seventh season, now that Oliver Queen is in the prison. Moreover, the new season will show Felicity Smoak in a new sporting bright pink hair look, along with various piercings.

Felicity’s new look could be some sort of a disguise, to protect herself after Oliver is put in prison while Ricardo Diaz is still busy controlling Star City. Felicity was even seen fighting someone using a pan and even has an injury on her forehead while she talks to Oliver during a visit to the prison.

Rickards explained in an interview earlier this year.

“The idea now is: If Oliver’s in prison, is he actually more protected than the team? The rest of the team is all going to be in danger as well. Where that puts Felicity and William, I mean, we can only do so much to protect them.”

Felicity’s look might look surprising to many but it seems to be the part of something bigger in the season 7. Here’s what Stephen Amell stated:

“[The writers] have a very clear vision of what they want season seven to be, and what I asked them to do – and it’s not up to me – but what I asked of them is to not just assume that we have an eighth season. I wanted them to write like, ‘If you have a good idea, and you have something you’ve always wanted to do or see on the show, then just do it! Do it right now!’ I think that’s one of the things I’m getting out of what they’ve planned for season seven – we’re not writing like we’re guaranteed something beyond this because we’re not; nobody is. I want them to really push forward and take the fact we have a certain license and a certain respect from the fans to take some chances.

Arrow stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen/Speedy, Juliana Harkavy as Dinah Drake/Black Canary, Rick Gonzalez as Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog, Echo Kellum as Curtis Holt/Wild Dog and Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance/Black Siren.

There has been no shortage of close calls for Oliver Queen when it comes to protecting his Super Hero identity, but in the season six finale, he was finally backed into a corner and forced to reveal himself to the world as the Green Arrow. Now, Oliver will come face-to-face with many of the criminals he placed behind bars, as he makes a new home for himself at Slabside Maximum Security Prison. Oliver will find himself vulnerable in a way unlike ever before when a mysterious new enemy begins to unravel his work as Green Arrow, challenging him to redeem his name or risk losing everything.

DC‘s Arrow Season 7 will premiere on October 15th on The CW.
