The hype for 2019’s Godzilla: King of The Monsters is starting to grow since this past July’s SDCC celebration, yet fans of the Kaiju franchise are already eagerly clawing at any news regarding the next, and fourth installment into the Legendary Monsterverse; Godzilla VS. Kong. And while news in regards to the production of the 2020 project will remain slow for atleast the next few months, details on casting and characters have started to make waves as the franchise welcomes in Legend of Tarzan and Big Little Lies star, Alexander Skarsgard.

Variety had reported earlier this week that the Golden Globe and Emmy Award Winning Alexander, son to Stellan (Good Will Hunting, The Avengers) and brother to Bill (IT, Deadpool 2), has been cast in the highly-anticipated monster clash. His role is fairly discreet, but had been described as a “militant leader”. These films always feature some form of military combat or force, so this should come as unsurprising and a welcome addition to the franchise.

Godzilla VS. Kong is set for release on May 22nd, 2020, and stars Millie Bobby Brown, Brian Tyree Henry, Demian Bichir, and Julian Dennison. Directed by Adam Wingard, and written by Terry Rossio, Godzilla VS. Kong will see the first culmination of Legendary’s Monsterverse come to fruition, as the world’s greatest monsters will go face-to-face in the battle of the century!

Japan’s Godzilla and Skull Island’s King Kong will been seen on the same screen for the first time since 1962’s King Kong V.S Godzilla, which saw the Eight Wonder of The World (King Kong) coming out with the victory. A rematch has been hounded by fans for years, and come May of next year, fans will get what they’ve been asking for!
