So, you’re telling me that this cute little pug is going to tell Mufasa to get up? And you want us not to cry?

Disney thrashed the Internet when it released the trailer for its live-action The Lion King this Thursday. Social Media was flooded, as each and every 80s and 90s kid was crying their hearts out at the cuteness of baby Simba.

And in no time, the trailer become the second most viewed trailer of all time (in the first 24 hours). The Lion King trailer crossed 224 million views in just 24 hours. Ahead of it, is Avengers: Infinity War with 238 million views in the same time.

The movie will bring back some of the old team of 1994’s The Lion King, with Hans Zimmer as the music composer and Elton John’s soundtrack. The 1994 animated original won an Academy Award for original song and two Grammys for the original soundtrack. It has grossed a total of whopping $968.8 million to date.

The Lion King is a story of love, sacrifice, friendship, courage and revenge. Mufasa, the king of the jungle, is murdered by his arch nemesis Scar. His son, Simba is forced to leave the jungle. As Simba comes to an age, he realizes that he has to return to the jungle and recapture his kingdom and become The Lion King.

Directed by Jon Favreau, The Lion King stars Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Billy Eichner as Timon, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, John Oliver as Zazu, Florence Kasumba as Shenzi, Eric Andre as Azizi, Keegan-Michael Key as Kamari, and Alfre Woodard as Sarabi.

The Lion King is scheduled to hit the theatres on July 19th, 2019.
