Yesterday at CinemaCon 2019, Disney revealed their movie line ups for the remainder of the year. Some of these releases surprised audience members due to some of the movies being Fox’s films as a result of the recent merger. One of the films that was shown to be releasing from the Disney company was New Mutants, which has had a rocky release schedule, having this be the film’s third announced release date. But, we can now confirm that it looks like August 2nd, 2019 will be when Disney plans to release it.

New Mutants was originally supposed to be released on April 13th, 2018, almost a year ago, but for rumored re-shoots were then pushed back to February 22nd, 2019. As it is now March, you could probably guess that there was another delay in the release, pushing it back once again to August 2nd, 2019. After the 3rd release date change there were heavy rumors that Disney was planning on just releasing the movie on Hulu and not giving it a theatrical release at all. For Fox/Marvel fans this could very well be the last movie in a long line Marvel movies made by Fox going back to 1999’s X-Men.

Check out the synopsis below:

“Held in a secret facility against their will, five new mutants have to battle the dangers of their powers, as well as the sins of their past. They aren’t out to save the world — they’re just trying to save themselves.”

New Mutants is scheduled to hit theaters August 2nd.
