According to a leak from Amazon UK, the third installment in the hacker-stealth franchise is allegedly set in a “near-future, dystopian version of London.”

The description for the product states, “Watch_Dogs Legion is set in a near-future, dystopian version of London. It’s a post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London’s fortunes. London is one of the most iconic cities in the world and has had a massive influence on all of Western Culture for centuries… London makes total sense for WD, as the city has one of the highest surveillce [sic] levels in the world making this the perfect playground.”

Additional details that can be gleaned from the description state that in Watch Dogs 3 players will be able to assume the role of any NPC that they encounter as the progress through the world. To be more specific the description highlights that “every individual you meet in the open world, has a full set of animations, voice over, character traits and visuals that are generated and guided by gameplay systems.”

According to Kotaku’s Jason Schreier, the leak is valid by adding that players will “… see different things at different points in the game depending on which NPC you’re playing as.”

The store page doesn’t provide anything else in the way of a release date or any confirmation as to if it will be released on the next generation of consoles. While Ubisoft themselves have not confirmed the leak it is likely that they will address it during their E3 press conference on June 10th at 1:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. There would be precedent for them to do so given how Assassin’s Creed Odyssey leaked shortly before it was officially announced at E3 last year. There’s also the fact that Ubisoft sent out invites for some of their star Watch Dogs players to attend the conference a few months ago, which only happens when they intend to debut a game that is tied to their Star Players program.
