Cyberpunk 2077 Expansions Will Be Like Witcher 3

CD Projekt Red has promised players will be satisfied with more than just the main storyline of Cyberpunk 2077.

When details on Cyberpunk were once scarce, CD Projekt Red took full advantage of this year’s E3 to give fans new insights on their latest project. Previously, we had heard that the open world science fiction title will have multiple endings. Now we are starting to hear about what the developer has planned for Cyberpunk, post-launch.

In an exclusive interview with Prima Games, UI Coordinator Alvin Liu was able to discuss the developer’s plans for DLC. Liu explained that the studio’s plans for future Cyberpunk 2077 expansions will be handled like The Witcher 3

“We want to make sure everything’s complete, but we also want to build open worlds. I know when I was playing The Witcher 3 and I finished everything, I still want to know what everyone was up to. I think we’re going to have opportunities like that as well for Cyberpunk 2077.”

More importantly, Liu promised that the content won’t be cut from the core game and that fans will be receiving a finished game.

“We’re not withholding content, we’re not withholding story for the future to try to, you know, monetize it or sell it in pieces or anything like that. You’re going to get the whole, full value game here.” When asked about the game’s narrative, Liu teased that fans can look forward to a “very satisfying story arc…” and the ending will be “very rewarding.”

With The Witcher 3 being a commercial and critical success it is easy to see how Cyberpunk 2077 is likely to be a hit among consumers when it releases this April.

Even if Cyberpunk 2077 is still far away we can still expect more footage of the science fiction title to release in the coming months. While only the press got a look at gameplay footage for Cyberpunk at E3 it won’t be long until fans get to see it either. CD Projekt Red has previously confirmed that that they will make the footage public at PAX West this August. Attendees at the trade show will be given a more in-depth look at the game’s protagonist V and Keanu Reeves’ Johnny Silverhand.

Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled to release on April 16th, 2020 on Windows PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
