Edward Furlong who portrayed John Connor in the original Terminator films has confirmed he is reprising his role in Terminator: Dark Fate.
Furlong confirmed at San Diego Comic Con that he will be returning as John Connor alongside Linda Hamilton who portrays Sarah Connor his mother. Hamilton initially portrayed the character in the first two Terminator films. This will be the first time either one of them have returned for a sequel since Terminator 2. This isn’t the first sequel that he will be returning for either. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been confirmed to be returning. All three of the main character from the franchise are now going to be in the film.
The characters of Sarah Connor and John Connor have both shown up in sequels, but have each time been portrayed by different actors. John Connor since Terminator 2 has been played by Vice‘s Christian Bale (Terminator Salvation), Jason Clarke(Terminator Genysis), and Nick Stahl (Terminator 3). The role of Sarah Connor has since been occupied by Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke. Clarke first assumed the role in Terminator: Genisys.
James Cameron is attached to the project as producer role, letting Deadpool director Tim Miller to take to the director’s chair for the latest installment in the 90s action franchise.
Terminator: Dark Fate is said to take place years after the events of Terminator 2, ignoring the other sequels that have come out since then. Presently, it has not been revealed how big of a role Edward Furlong’will play in the upcoming film. All we know is that this is a reunion that has been years in the making that Terminator fans are likely to appreciate.
Terminator: Dark Fate will be directed by Tim Miller and produced by James Cameron. The films stars Mackenzie Grace (as Grace), Arnold Scwarzenegger (as The Terminator), Linda Hamilton (as Sarah Connor), Edward Furlong (as John Connor), Tom Hopper (as Hadrell), Natalia Reyes(as Dani Ramos) and Gabriel Luna( as The New Terminator)
