DC Entertainment has released some new posters for Wonder Woman: Bloodlines.
The marketing for Bloodlines provides us a glimpse at who we could expect Diana to face off against in the upcoming animated feature.
The first poster is of Diana facing off against what appears to be a cybernetically enhanced version of classic Wonder Woman rogue, Silver Swan. It is not clear which of the three iterations of the character it could be. The second poster features three more members of Diana’s rogues gallery with Cheetah, Dr. Poison, and Giganta. The third one is just a banner with the title of the film using the font from the current comics. All of this does confirm though that it is set in the current DC Animated Movie Universe continuity that started with 2014’s Justice League War. Check them out below:
The film also has made several casting announcements following San Diego Comic Con. According to SyFyWire, Rosario Dawson is set to reprise her role as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman. This will be the sixth time that Dawson has lent her voice talents to the classic comic character since 2015’s Justice League: Throne of Atlantis. She will be leading a cast of Jeffrey Donovan as Steve Trevor, Marie Avgeropoulos as Silver Swan, Kimberly Brooks as The Cheetah and Giganta, and Michael Dorn as Ferdinand.
The cast also includes Ray Chase as the Lead Bandit, Mozhan Marno as Dr. Cyber, Adrienne Moore as Etta Candy, Cree Summer as Queen Hippolyta, Courtenay Taylor as Dr. Poison, Nia Vardalos as Julia Kapatelis, and Constance Zimmer as Veronica Cale.
Not much is known about the story, but it is clear that Diana is going to have to contend with several members of her rogue’s gallery. Lead Bandit, Dr. Cyber, Silver Swan, Cheetah, Giganta, Dr. Poison, and Veronica Cale are all villains she has encountered since her first appearance in 1941. Dr. Poison most recently made her live-action debut in 2017’s Wonder Woman, where she was portrayed by actress Elena Anaya. Cheetah is also set to make her first live action debut in 2020’s Wonder Woman 1984 where she will be portrayed by Kristen Wiig.
Bloodlines is the last movie that is scheduled to be released in DC Entertainment’s 2019 animated film slate. There is currently no release date, but it is likely that the film will release sometime in October/November. It is the second animated Wonder Woman movie to be released since 2009’s Wonder Woman.
