A beta has been announced for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
During their big reveal event for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward announced that players who pre-order the game will have access to the beta.
The first beta test period will run from September 13th through the 14th, exclusively on the Playstation 4 as per Activision’s exclusivity deal with Sony. On September 14th, all PS4 users will then also be able to log into the beta and play through September 16th.
After the first period is over the beta will then expand to pre-orders on the Xbox One and PC. Xbox One and PC players will be able to play the beta from September 19th, including players who didn’t pre-order it on the Playstation 4. On September 21st, the Modern Warfare beta will be accessible to all players on every platform.
It is important to note that the second beta period has been confirmed to include cross-play support. The game’s cross-play will unite Playstation 4, PC, and Xbox One players, which would make it one of a small handful of games to offer this level of crossplay.
Like most betas for Call of Duty, it is not likely that progress from this beta will carry over to the full game when it launches this October.
