Marvel Television fans have had their prayers answered as it has been confirmed that Season 3 of Marvel’s Runaways will feature a crossover episode with Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger.
Appearing in a brief announcement clip on the Marvel Entertainment YouTube Channel, the main cast members of Marvel’s Runaways briefly teased the show’s upcoming third season.
The first announcement was made by Gregg Sulkin, who portrays Chase Stein in the series, who stated that Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on December 13 on Hulu.
Virginia Gardner, who portrays Karolina Dean, was next to speak stating that this coming season the Runaways will face some of their toughest challenges ever, although not stating is this is as a team or as individual character arcs.
Ariela Barer then slyly commented that they are going to need some help, as the camera zooms out to reveal Aubrey Joseph and Olivia Holt, who portray Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Brown known by the Marvel Comics fandom as Cloak and Dagger on Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, sitting besides them.
After a cheer from the group, Allegra Acosta, who portrays Molly Hayes Hernendez stated that the audience have been asking for this team-up and their requests have been heard by both the actors and Marvel it seems as Lyrica Okano, who portrays Nico Minoru, confirmed that Tyrone and Tandy would be teaming up with the Runaways for one episode in the coming season.
Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger airs on the Freeform network under the Disney-ABC distributor. The show’s second season ended on May 30 of this year with Tyrone and Tandy leaving New Orleans behind to go out into the world and become heroes.
Potentially leading them from Louisiana to California as Marvel’s Runaways is primarily set in Los Angeles as the team of teen heroes, minus Chase who remains in captivity and has defected over to PRIDE, struggle with staying hidden from their parents while also trying to stop them.
Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger has also tied in with the now defunct Netflix Marvel Shows as Brigid O’Reilly is a police officer formerly from Harlem who has worked alongside Misty Knight, portrayed by Simone Missick.
Aubrey Joseph stated in this one-minute announcement video that they are both super excited to be teaming up with the Runaways and that they couldn’t wait for the fans to see what they do.
Olivia Holt ended the video by saying that both seasons of both shows are available to watch and catchup on Hulu.
As well as the five mentioned cast members, Marvel’s Runaways also stars Rhenzy Feliz as Alex Wilder, who was also in the video, as well as Angel Parker, Ryan Sands, Annie Wersching, Kip Pardue, Ever Carradine, James Marsters, Brigid Brannagh, Kevin Weisman, Brittany Ishibashi, James Yaegashi, Julian McMahon and Elizabeth Hurley.
Marvel’s Runaways season three premieres on December 13 on Hulu.
No word on the future of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger at this time.
