Over the years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has provided us with countless incredible superhero moments, exciting action scenes, and a vast, interconnected universe. Recalling the history: with the release of Paramount’s $585.8 million Iron Man, starring Robert Downey Jr., in 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe—a multiplatform superhero franchise—began to gain popularity very quickly. Then, several motion pictures and TV shows comprised the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), of which Avengers: Endgame, WandaVision, and Loki are to name a few.
However, occasionally even the most popular movies fall short of giving certain characters who merit more screen time enough attention. Three significant Marvel characters—Gamora, Falcon, and Pepper Potts—got less than five minutes of valuable screen time in Avengers: Endgame, the highest-grossing MCU movie of all time (from July 2019 to March 2021).

1. Gamora ( Zoe Saldaña) : 4 Minutes, 45 seconds
Played by Zoe Saldaña, Gamora is a Guardian who was taken from her planet of birth and raised by Thanos. The two films, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, run a combined 5.5 hours. For the first two hours, Gamora played a major role. Her role was, of course, naturally reduced after her death, which constituted the most significant portion of the story’s momentum. To put it simply, her significant role in Anthony and Joe Russo’s Avengers: Endgame was largely absent.
2. Falcon (Sam Wilson): 4 Minutes, 30 seconds
Anthony Mackie portrayed Sam Wilson, also known as Falcon. His portrayal as a skilled aerial combatant with his distinctive Falcon wings adds a thrilling dynamic to any battle. He has a fascinating past of his own in addition to being devoted to Captain America. Regretfully, none of these aspects received nearly enough screen time to give the audience a more in-depth look at his character and potential in Avengers: Endgame.
Yet the movie did a fantastic job of laying the groundwork for his character. It was far too short of an appearance, though. In other words, Avengers: Endgame was not Falcon’s moment to shine; that film belonged to Captain America.

3. Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow): 4 Minutes, 15 seconds
Pepper Potts, played by Gwyneth Paltrow, is the CEO of Stark Industries and the spouse of Tony Stark. Iron Man 3 was her ‘superhero landing’ moment, and she finally found her spotlight in the $2.799 billion Avengers: Endgame. But her presence did not last very long.
In the opening moments of Avengers: Infinity War, Pepper Potts had a powerful scene; she established her life with Tony Stark. Then, in Avengers: Endgame, she did exactly that, and the audience can feel her joy. Though it is only a brief moment, her supporting him and the other Avengers in the final conflict is admirable.

Phase Three of the MCU began with the release of Avengers: Endgame. Critics praised the film for its emotional impact, action sequences, acting, musical score, visual effects, and direction. With a worldwide box office receipt of $2.799 billion, the movie broke multiple records at the box office and became the highest-grossing movie of all time from July 2019 to March 2021. It also outperformed Avengers: Infinity War during its entire theatrical run in just eleven days.
Well, fans still yearn for more on-screen time for some of their favorite heroes, even though Avengers: Endgame unquestionably provided an epic cinematic experience. Hopefully, more MCU films will let these characters reach their full potential and give the heroes the attention they so richly deserve.
Avengers: Endgame is streaming on Disney Plus.
