While recounting the incident, Hathaway expressed how fortunate she is to be an actor and how the times have changed for many women in the film industry.
Anne Hathaway Was Once Told Her Career Would Not Last When She Became Old
Anne Hathaway is 41 now, but the actress looks as beautiful as ever. A wonderful actress and an even more amazing person, she got her breakthrough with her Princess Diaries role. Ever since the actress has only risen to prominence, by showcasing her talents in many of her diverse roles.
Now counted among Hollywood A-listers, the actress was once told she would not be able to have a career past the age of 35. During an interview with Porter Magazine (via Variety), she stated,
“When I started out as a child, I was warned that my career would fall off a cliff at the age of 35, which is something I know a lot of women face.”
However, the actress is happy to have proven the ‘prediction’ wrong and expressed that she is glad not to be the only female actor to have a career beyond the age of 35.
“The thing that has evolved during [that time] is that more women are having careers deeper into their lives, which I think is fantastic.”
Times have changed in the film industry, where old so-called conventional norms are no longer valid, and actors like Anne Hathaway are the catalyst for this remarkable change.
