The mega-popular creator, Jimmy Donaldson, announced a groundbreaking deal with Prime Video for “Beast Games,” a reality-competition show offering the winner a staggering $5 million cash prize — believed to be the largest single payout ever in TV history.

Specific details about the challenges featured in “Beast Games” are being kept secret for now. However, according to Prime Video, the show will involve 1,000 contestants competing for the $5 million cash prize in a fast-paced and high-production format.

MrBeast will take on the roles of both host and executive producer for Beast Games. The show’s premiere date has not yet been announced, but it will be exclusively available on Prime Video worldwide. MrBeast also released a statement on this major deal.

“My goal is to make the greatest show possible and prove YouTubers and creators can succeed on other platforms. Amazon gave me the creative control I need to try and make it happen. I hope to make the YouTube community proud.”

Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, expressed excitement about working with MrBeast and his team.

“MrBeast has captured the attention and imagination of fans of all ages, from all walks of life, and all over the world,” she said. “We are excited to work with Jimmy and his talented team to bring his brilliant, high production, and stakes-raising concepts to Beast Games for our global customers to experience.”

Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios, praised MrBeast’s ambitious vision for Beast Games.

“When MrBeast first told us about his concept for the show, we were blown away by his ambition to make Beast Games the biggest reality competition series ever.”

Sanders also acknowledged Spotter, including founder Aaron DeBevoise and president Nic Paul, for introducing him to MrBeast and initiating the journey. Spotter, which pays YouTube creators cash for the rights to monetize their video libraries and helps them grow their fanbases, counts MrBeast as a client.

In a recent YouTube clip, MrBeast shed light on the disparity between his channel’s massive viewership and the limitations of traditional advertising on the platform. He highlighted the staggering number of views his videos receive, reaching up to 200 million at times, which presents immense potential for advertisers. However, he argued that the current advertising model fails to adequately compensate creators for such massive audiences, creating a dilemma for brands.

For a lot of people that advertise on YouTube, it’s like literally half their entire yearly spend on YouTube would have to go to me for one video.

According to MrBeast, advertisers would need to allocate a significant portion of their yearly budget to just one of his videos, which they often can’t afford. This leads to undervaluing his content during negotiations. Despite his high viewership, MrBeast revealed that his videos don’t generate profits.

”My videos don’t make money. Even when I do a brand deal on a video, I still lose money. I lose like over a million dollars a video.

Even with brand deals, he claims to lose over a million dollars per video due to the extensive costs involved in producing his content, including elaborate sets, massive challenges, and substantial giveaways.
