Movies often portray huge characters as intimidating and fearsome. They have unusually colossal physiques paired with strength that can push a wall with just their pinky finger. These characters are often avoided by many because of fear.
But, some giant movie characters are not scary at all! In fact, many of them have gentle hearts and sweet dispositions. They may look tough on the outside, but they are really softies on the inside. If people only bother to look past their image, they would know how adorable these gigantic characters are. Here’s a list of some popular physically huge characters from movies with soft hearts:
Hulk
Everyone knows that Bruce Banner turns into a giant green monster when he gets angry, but this is when he wants to. After every battle, he cools down until he turns into his human self again. This is evident in Avengers: Age of Ultron when Natasha Romanoff gently calms down the Hulk.
But despite his Hulk form, Bruce has worked his way into finding inner peace, so much as moving to a secluded city in a foreign country to stay away from stress. And, even in his monster form, he recognizes love when he sees the apple of his eye.
Baymax
Baymax is a large inflatable healthcare companion designed to help people requiring medical assistance. Even with his giant size, he looks fluffy and huggable. Children would not feel scared to approach him.
Perhaps when he puts on his red armor and strikes a fighting pose only then he would look intimidating. Baymax, like all robots, follows a certain protocol. It’s only a matter of switching his chip that would turn him from a gentle robot nurse into a scary giant flying ball of white.
Hagrid
Rubeus Hagrid is one of the friendliest and most approachable characters in Harry Potter. He is a great friend to Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and more than a pal, he also serves as their mentor and protector.
His nine-foot towering physique will surely make the kids run for their lives, but he is actually harmless and gentle to everyone. Hagrid is compassionate, sympathetic, and understanding. Giants have big hearts, too.
Kronk
While Kronk has the status of a villain in the Disney movie Emperor’s New Groove, he is not necessarily evil in nature. He only follows orders from Yzma, and he even has two sides of his conscience debating on every crucial situation he gets into.
Kronk is all muscles and brawns, but he is a people pleaser, and he does not harm anyone despite Yzma’s commands. In the end, Kronk gets to do what his heart truly desires!
Chewbacca
Chewbacca is one of the crowd’s favorite Star Wars characters. He stands quite tall and has furry brown hair that makes him look frightening. Only his friend, Han Solo, can understand his language, and that’s enough for Chewbacca.
Despite being one of the huge characters, the furry Wookie is actually soft and gentle, and he even fights for a good cause. Chewbacca is a loyal friend that anyone can count on.
