Thor: Love and Thunder is a “classic Thor adventure”, filled with action, love, and humor that you would come to expect from a Taika Waititi project. While we have exciting new possibilities introduced into the MCU, we are also left with some new questions. I decided to pick five to focus on and see if we can get an idea of what’s coming in Phase 5 and beyond!

Will we see Dr. Jane Foster/Mighty Thor again?

Natalie Portman made her triumphant return to the MCU after missing out on Thor: Love and Thunder and it was worth the wait! She was clearly having a blast playing this fun, Waititi-infused version of Jane Foster; her chemistry with Chris Hemsworth was much better as well this time around.

Obviously, Jane died at the end from her cancer being affected by her time as Mighty Thor and she is now in Valhalla. By introducing Valhalla in the second post-credits scene, it makes me think we aren’t done yet with Dr. Jane Foster.

Is Zeus an antagonist now and will we see Thor vs Hercules?

Russell Crowe is a fantastic actor; he always knows what type of movie he’s in and tailors his performance to match it (his role as Dr. Jekyll in The Mummy highlights that). He was the highlight of our time in Omnipotence City and got the first post-credit scene of the film.

Zeus clearly has it out for Thor now, especially after being taken down by Thunderbolt and having it stolen. This leads me to believe that if we get a Thor 5, it will be Zeus as the antagonist alongside Hercules (played by Brett Goldstein) going up against the God of Thunder to settle the score.

Marvel has done a very excellent, sneaky job of setting up a new Avengers team throughout Phase 4: the Young Avengers. Here are all of the potential members so far from their respective projects already announced:

  • WandaVision – Wiccan and Speed (Billy and Tommy)
  • The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – Patriot (Eli Bradley)
  • Loki – Kid Loki
  • Black Widow – Yelena Belova
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home – Spider-Man
  • Hawkeye – Kate Bishop
  • Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – America Chavez
  • Ms. Marvel – Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan)
  • Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Ironheart (Riri Williams)
  • Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania – Stature (Cassie Lang)

Axl became an important part of what happened in Thor: Love and Thunder and was focused on training with Lady Sif at the end of the film. If he keeps his training up, he could fill another Asgardian spot on the Young Avengers.

The possibility is certainly on the table, especially thanks to the Loki series. Whether or not that will ever happen remains to be seen. The fans would love it though, that’s a guarantee!

Can we get an MCU Rewind series with Luis and Korg retelling the previous MCU films?

Michael Peña as Luis in Ant-Man and Taika Waititi as Korg in Thor: Love and Thunder
Michael Peña as Luis in Ant-Man and Taika Waititi as Korg in Thor: Love and Thunder

This would be the greatest Disney+ series of all time; Michael Peña and Taika Waititi just riffing off each other as they retell the MCU would be must-see television. Make it happen, Marvel!
