In an interview with Big Boy TV, 50 Cent confirmed that 8 Mile will be re-produced into a series, based on Eminem’s autobiographical film which was made way back in 2002. He also revealed that the series is already in motion.

50 Cent described the show as “big” and on par with Will Smith’s series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air made by Peacock. He also commented that the idea was his own and he did not have to do much convincing for Eminem’s consent.

Eminem’s Autobiography: 8 Mile

It appears that we can expect to see the early life of Marshall Bruce Mathers III and how he came to be known as Eminem. 50 Cent did not elaborate on Eminem’s level of involvement but the rapper said,

“I wanna be able to show and offer a lot more details, things that you would say in an interview or different things that you’ve already used, that you put out there, and stuff like that, You’ll see those things kind of surface and the temperament of the characters.”

In Eminem’s 2002 autobiographical film 8 Mile, the title was derived from 8 Mile Road, the highway between the African-American city of Detroit and the white suburban communities where Eminem originally lived. The film shows the young rapper attempting to launch his career in hip-hop, a genre at that time dominated by African-Americans.

Upon its release 8 Mile was a huge box-office success as it eventually gathered over two hundred forty million dollars worldwide. It grossed a whopping fifty-one million dollars on its opening weekend in the US. The film was awarded numerous award nominations and wins including an Academy Award for Best Original Song for Lose Yourself. 8 Mile was named one of the best film productions made in 2002 by many publications.

Eminem’s Career in the Music Industry

Eminem also known as Slim Shady is an American rapper who popularized hip-hop music in the middle of America and is critically acclaimed as the best hip-hop artist of all time.
