Talking about the good old times of the ’90s and the early 2000s, many actors and actresses were making a name for themselves in the industry through their amazing performances. Among them, actress Carla Gugino became one of the most popular stars in the business via her performance in the iconic Spy Kids franchise.

While the role of Ingrid Cortez served well for her career after the franchise, there was always one concern that the actress had while filming for the films. She said that despite having no qualms about contributing to the franchise, she always felt that she was way too young for the role of a mother.

The bombshell title, along with numerous blockbusters and cult-classic films later, the world still knows actress Carla Gugino for being the lovable Ingrid Cortez in the Spy Kids franchise. Playing the role of the mother in the Cortez family, she became iconic for this role through the amazing maternal energy she brought with her performance.

But somewhat contrary to popular belief, while she did enjoy being cast in that film, and also in the following sequels, she always felt that she shouldn’t have been chosen for the role. The reason for that is because she felt she was too young.

In a past interview with Variety, the Gerald’s Game star talked about her career in an extensive conversation. Here, she also talked about arguably the most iconic role of her career, where she said that she wouldn’t trade it for the world. But somewhere, the role was also the reason why most people thought she was older than she was when they saw her in the franchise.

While she was just 28 years old during the first film of the franchise, people thought she would be almost 10 years older than that. She said:

“What’s particularly strange about the ‘Spy Kids’ of it all is I was so young when I did it, I was at least ten years too young for the role because I was supposed to have been a spy for ten years, then had two children who were now 10 and 12. I was 28 years old. But Robert kind of said, ‘My mom had ten kids and if we play this right, no one will ever question it.’ I think it only hurt me a little because people did think I was older than I was for a period of time. But I would never have given up that experience.”

Considering she was still so young when she took the role of a mother, the iconic series tells you just how amazing she is as an actor.

While her rise to fame was thanks to her depiction as a lovely mother, her role in the recent Netflix gothic horror series The Fall of the House of Usher is a long departure from that. Within a short span of time since the release of the mini-series, it has managed to wow the audience with its gloomy and macabre narrative.

The series tells the tale of two siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher, the duo that built a pharmaceutical empire laden with wealth and influence. But one day, Roderick calls upon his friend to tell him about the secrets of the mysterious and eerie deaths of his children and the heirs of the Usher Dynasty.
