It has been less than a week since the release of Palworld, and it has grabbed the attention of many for some of the right and some of the wrong reasons. Within the first five days, Palworld has sold a staggering seven million copies.

Although many are thoroughly enjoying the game, it has grabbed some unwanted attention as Nintendo and its counterparts are currently investigating claims of Palworld allegedly copying Pokémon.

Brushing all the drama to one side, we will be discussing the top 6 Pals you will want to capture as soon as you can in Palworld, not just because they look cute but because they will help you advance through the game and benefit your base.

6. Penking

Penking and its unevolved Pal Pengullet.

Penking is a very useful Pal. As you progress through Palworld you will find many pals that have good stats and help improve your base, but I feel Penking has good attributes to help you progress. This pal has many traits, including Handiwork, Watering, and Mining all very good traits to have while starting to progress your base. Not only will this Pal water your plantations around your base, but it will also mine in-between tasks.

The main trait you want from this Pal is Cooling level two, As you progress, you will find out that food is a very important factor for your character You will unlock a Cooler box, which will be used to keep your food for longer. This is where Penking’s level two cooling comes in to play it will cool the food to keep it longer in the Cooler Box.

5. Vixy

Vixy grazing after digging up a Pal Sphere

Vixy is a very good Pal to have early on in the game as her traits include Gathering and Farming so this Pal will collect things and gather materials for you, Certain Vixy’s you capture will have an extra trait called Dig Here, which means if you assign this Vixy to your base, it will randomly dig up items and materials such as Stone, Wood, and Pal Spheres, To help you gain plenty of XP, you will need an abundance of Pal Sphere’s.

4. Arsox

Arsox Smelting Ingots to create different products.

Arsox is next on my list, as not only is this Pal a fierce fighter, it also has other qualities that will help throughout the game. As mentioned, not only does Arsox fight, it’s other helpful abilities include Lumbering and Kindling level two. It’s ability to lumber is helpful, but the trait you want to concentrate on is Kindling level two. When you assign Arsox to your base, it will focus on anything in your base that requires fire. The main use I feel for Arsox when assigned to your base, is for smelting. While it is not smelting, it will chop down trees in it’s spare time.

Not only is Arsox great to have assigned to your base, the Pal is very useful to have as a traveling companion to help you fight the elements. As you progress through the player levels and upgrade your base, you will unlock Arsox’s Saddle, which you then craft, and instead of walking everywhere, you will be able to use Arsox as a ridable mount.

3. Nitewing

Here is a player flying on the back of Nitewing.

Nitewing is a Pal that doesn’t have a huge amount of use to be assigned at your base but has its most use being your companion while out traveling. Nitewing isn’t to bad to help fight other Pals but the key feature you need Nitewing for is that, as you progress through the levels, like with Arsox when you reach a high enough level, you will be able to create the Nitewing Saddle, which gives you the ability to fly Nitewing. This comes in very handy to help you travel through the world quicker while being able to reach parts of the map you can’t reach on foot.

2. Eikthyrdeer

Palworld

This hulking beast of a deer is a must-have for your base not only does this Pal deal decent damage to any intruders on your base, it will continuously chop wood to help you continue progressing your base whilst you are of on your travels this beast will keep your base’s wood topped up, so you have more time to catch more Pals instead of having to chop down trees for your base.

1. Lifmunk

Here is a Lifmunk helping build on base.

This last pal, I believe, is one of the best Pals you can have assigned to your base as a fantastic all-rounder. The Lifmunk will do nearly everything that your base requires. The Lifmunk isn’t really a battle Pal but when you assign this pal to your base, it will put most of the other Pal’s to shame with the amount of help this Pal gives you, from Gathering and Planting seeds in your plantations and also Handiwork so when building anything in your base, this Pal will help you build quicker.
