Over its long development phase, 7 Days to Die has brought many significant updates and features to the game. However, there’s one feature that the game still lacks, which The Fun Pimps wouldn’t even dare to bring, considering the backlash it will induce.

In the ever-growing number of open-world games, developers push hard to make the experience more accessible. They provide us with various features, vehicles, maps, and even a minimap. This is often found at the corner of the interface.

As 7 Days to Die is an open-world title, the developers have added many useful features to the game. One of these is the quest zombies on the map, but players aren’t sure how useful it might be for the game.

Not seen it mentioned, and I’m not sure how useful it is, but it seems they’ve added quest zombies to the map…

Instead of adding zombie quests to the map, many players feel like the developer should’ve added a minimap to the game. However, at the same time, they feel like it would make 7 Days to Die relatively easy and alienate a large part of the fanbase who love the challenge the game brings.

7 Days to Die, at one point, did feature a minimap in the game. However, the developers removed it due to various reasons.

One of the fundamental flaws of a minimap in any game is that it has matured from a metaphorical training wheel to a self-driving electric vehicle that’s equipped with a heads-up display. It’s too convenient and gives players a lot of information. Often, we see gamers relying on minimap instead of engaging with the game world themselves.

In a game like 7 Days to Die, the minimap would obviously hinder the survival aspect of the game that’s centered around a zombie apocalypse.

The feature would reveal where all the zombies are and the directions they’re heading to, even if they’ve targeted you. It takes away from the challenge of zombie survival, which the developers would never want.

7 Days to Die’s Massive Modding Community Might Add a Minimap

With 7 Days to Die coming out soon, community mod support for the title will become much more popular.

Considering the fact that the game already has a large number of progression overhauls, popular cosmetics, and content mods, this should be a sweet treat for players who want a minimap and other valuable features that the developers won’t officially bring to the game.

Since 7 Days to Die‘s initial launch in early access way back in 2013, the game faced many hardships throughout its long early access period.

Despite all of this, though, the game’s upcoming release is truly a testament to the studio’s dedication to the title after all of these years. Not to mention, new and longtime fans of the game finally look forward to all the upcoming content made by The Fun Pimps.
