Opting for a base that you gradually build over days helps add more character to it ,as you keep nurturing it and adding your personal touch, which makes the feel more immersive for some.

On the other hand, some people might also try having just one base for both living and horde nights instead of 2 separate ones; it does increase the risk of losing everything but keeps the player on their toes at all times.

But then again, it’s all about what floats your boat, as there is no right or wrong way to approach the game, and many people do not take either of the above-mentioned approaches.
