While sharing his impression upon reading the film script, he stated,

As he was hesitating, Gosling chimed in sharing, “It’s Ryan.” This little interaction quickly burst the audience into laughter but it was far from the end.

He continued telling the host about how his co-star was a great fit for his part.

“What a great part. Why don’t we see if we can get …”

He stuttered and approached his co-star for help. The La La Land star reminded him of “Ryan,” while trying to hold back his laughter. Eventually, the Indiana Jones star decided to take his co-star’s last name but this time, the latter asked, “Did you say Rosling?”

He clarified before eventually finishing his statement, “This is a great part for Ryan Gosling.” His funny moment revolving around Gosling earned thunders of claps from the audiences as well as his fellow co-star, Reese Witherspoon, and Margot Robbie.

He continued,

“So they probably would have gone ahead without me.”

The film was a sequel to the 1982 film Blade Runner was critically acclaimed but still became a box-office bomb, grossing over $257 million worldwide as per The Numbers. Despite that, it is still considered a modern cult classic with the film winning two Academy Awards for Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects. A sequel series, Blade Runner 2099 is currently in development at Amazon Studios.

Meanwhile, Gosling gets reunited with his co-star Robbie in the upcoming live-action film, Barbie which will release in the US on July 21, 2023.
