The Brave and the Bold will introduce Damian Wayne in DCU

Just before the end of January, James Gunn broke the internet by announcing the initial projects for the first chapter of DCU God and Monsters. The director also confirmed that DCU is going to have its own Batman and his Robin, which will be introduced in The Brave and the Bold.

Fans have been flabbergasted after the confirmation of Robin in the new DCU, considering the studios haven’t been keen on the idea of Robin since the Schumacher movies. But James Gunn has ensured that Robin will be an integral factor in Batman’s story and the upcoming movie will deep dive into the Bat-family lore, starting with Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul’s son Damian Wayne. He Went on to state,

“This is the introduction of the DCU Batman. Of Bruce Wayne and also introduces our favorite Robin, Damian Wayne, who is a little son of a bitch. It’s a very strange father-and-son story.”

Considering that Damian is the fourth Robin in the Bat family, it’s reasonable to expect that Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, and Tim Drake already exist in the DCU. But apart from the excitement to witness Robin in the upcoming movie, fans have requested James Gunn to respect Damian Wayne’s Arab-Chinese ancestry.

Fans urged James Gunn to respect Damian Wayne’s ethnicity

With the confirmation of DCU comprising its very own Batman and Robin, fans have shared their viewpoints on the casting of Bruce Wayne’s adolescent son. Fans have urged James Gunn to respect Damian Wayne’s ethnicity and not cast another white boy for the role, as Damian Wayne is part Arab and Chinese due to his mother Talia Al Ghul’s ethnicity.

Apart from suggesting James Gunn some perspective on the matter, fans have also blasted Tom Holland by sarcastic fan casting the actor as the new Robin. Tom Holland isn’t new to internet trolls when it comes to casting popular characters and the same continues with the announcement of Robin, as fans share some hilarious takes on the new Batman and Robin duo.
