During an interview with GQ, the American actor shared that he has been planning to take some time off from work and spend some quality time with his wife, Robin Dearden. And he surprised his fans, as he seemingly announced his retirement plans from acting.

As reports surrounding his alleged retirement started coming out, the actor took to Instagram to clarify his statement and debunked the claims, saying that he is not planning to retire anytime soon.

Bryan Cranston Debunks His Retirement Reports

Followed by his GQ interview, Bryan Cranston took to Instagram to clarify that he’s not planning a complete retirement from acting. Sharing a series of pictures with his wife, Robin Dearden, the 67-year-old actor shared that he wanted to set the record straight, and said, “I’m not retiring.”

He further explained that he plans to take a break from acting after turning 70 in 2026 and take a year off to spend some time with his wife. “I’m not even sure what ‘pausing’ means entirely, but at this moment, I think it means that by taking a year off it will provide several things,” he said.

He shared that he wants to take some time off for his wife and wants to enjoy the “latter years” of his life with “new hopes and goals and experiences.” The Why Him? actor also mentioned that he has a wonderful career, as he experienced working on TV, on stage, and in films.

And he wants to take a break for a career reset, which would allow him to “replenish [his] soul” and prepare for his future roles more authentically. Cranston also shared some of the things that he needs to get done before he goes on to enjoy his break with his wife.

Bryan Cranston Plans to Disappear From Social Media

Bryan Cranston seems to have everything planned for his short break with his wife. The actor has shared that he would not be using social media during his break and would also not engage in any business activities. He has shared that one of the things he has always wanted to do is to “dive into the classic novels,” but he never got the opportunity to do so.

And he plans to finally do it during the break. He also mentioned that it’s still quite far away, as he has lined up several upcoming films. Cranston also shared that he is producing some TV shows and is planning on returning to Broadway. His fans are happy that he’s finally taking some time off for his family and have said that they are eagerly waiting for his upcoming projects.
