Jonathan Majors was being counted among the rising stars of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, up until recently. Now being out on bail after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend, things have not been looking good for the Antman and The Wasp: Quantumania star career-wise.
After having starred in a number of popular films as well as brand campaigns, Majors career as Kang seems to be stuck in a state of uncertainty. And now as he battles his girlfriend’s alleged abuse claims, the Marvel star has suffered another major blow.
Jonathan Majors Suffers Another Major Career Blow
Jonathan Majors starred in the recently released Creed III along with fellow Marvel actor, Michael B. Jordan. With the film all set to appear on Amazon Prime Video, Jonathan Majors seems to have suffered another career blow. Despite the actor’s performance being much appreciated and applauded, Amazon has chosen to drop the Marvel actor from all its marketing campaigns.
During the marketing promotion of the movie, we find no mention of Jonathan Majors or even a glimpse, even though he is the movie’s lead and the primary antagonist. Amazon’s social media posts have instead chosen to focus on Michael B Jordon alone.
Before the release of the movie, it was widely believed that Major’s involvement in the major franchise amongst his growing stardom as a Marvel star would help Creed III to gain significant attention and success. However, his assault case and arrest have put all studios at a standstill regarding the success of their ventures starring Jonathan Majors.
In the Amazon social media campaign for Creed III, among the dozens of tweets, one can find only a single shot of Major’s character and that too from behind. With him being deliberately ignored, the actor’s career seems to be on thin ice.
Jonathan Majors Future In Marvel-Verse
Among Jonathan Majors’ legal troubles, any project involving him is at risk of failure. With Jonathan Majors a significant part of Marvel, it is hard to determine what the studio has in mind for him and his character.
Jonathan Mojors’ Kang is among the main antagonist of Loki Season 2 and the rest of Phase 6 of Marvel. With Marvel already having planned its future projects starring him, there have been reports that the Billion-dollar studio is considering replacing the actor if the need arises.
An insider also reported that Marvel had already thought of a kind of actor that could potentially replace Majors. While no confirmation has been given from the studio itself, it seems likely that they must be waiting until the verdict is delivered.
