James Gunn’s DCU Wants Tom Cruise to Replace Ryan Reynolds as Next Green Lantern after The Flash Cracked the Multiverse? Top Gun 2 Star Reportedly Being Courted by WB

Despite being one of the biggest action stars in the world, Tom Cruise is yet to make his debut in the comic cinematic universe. The American actor has not starred in any Marvel or DC movies throughout his career spanning over 4 decades. With many A-listers like Dwayne Johnson and Emilia Clarke making their debut in superhero movies or franchises in recent times, fans have been waiting for an announcement about Cruise making his debut in the genre.

However, it seems like James Gunn’s DCU is about to make fans’ wishes come true as Warner Bros studio is reportedly seeking Tom Cruise to play the role of Hal Jordan aka The Green Lantern in the movies.

Tom Cruise is being sought by Warner Bros studio for the role of Green Lantern

A Twitter user who goes by the user name of KC Walsh(@TheComixKid) recently took to Twitter and announced that “Tom Cruise is reportedly being courted for a DC Studios project.” According to sources, the role that the Mission Impossible actor will be taking up in the DCU will be of Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern.

Tom Cruise was reportedly among the few stars who saw the new The Flash movie before its release and according to The Hollywood Reporter, Cruise loved the movie so much, “that he cold-called the movie’s director, Andy Muschietti, to rave about it.”

The Flash movie came out this Friday and has received mixed reviews from fans all over the world. The movie was supposed to be the “Greatest superhero movie ever” but is allegedly not even the greatest superhero movie that has come out this month. In the movie, Barry Allen aka The Flash realizes the side effects of Flashpoint and decides to restore the timeline only to find that the timeline could not be fully restored.

Therefore, some of the characters have completely been wiped out of the new timeline and new characters have taken their place. This plot can even lead to Tom Cruise finally appearing in DCEU as Hal Jordan aka The Green Lantern.
