Mark Ruffalo Is Trying to Protect A Church In His Neighbourhood

West Park Presbyterian Church, which is situated in the Upper West Side of Manhatten and was built in the 1880s, has not been able to withstand the test of time, causing it to be crumbling in its wake. The people in charge were not able to keep up with the number of resources required to maintain the church and so have decided to sell it instead to a big cooperation that wants to tear the building down to construct luxury apartments.

“Every brownstone in NYC is in a constant state of repair. Go anywhere in the Upper West Side, and there is work being done on “crumbling” brownstones. Lol. This is a historically significant piece of architecture they are getting paid $30M to tear down.” Stated Mark Ruffalo on Twitter

People living in this neighborhood, including Mark Ruffalo, are extremely against this idea as they believe that the building’s age makes it a historically significant piece of agriculture. He added that the money that the cooperation is using to tear down the church can be used to restore it instead.
