Starfield, the upcoming action role-playing game has been making quite a few rounds around the internet. The release of the game is meant only for Xbox and PCs which makes the game a Microsoft exclusive.

Some declassified documents, however, revealed that Starfield was going to be a PlayStation exclusive before the transfer! The game was nearly supposed to be a PS5 exclusive until Microsoft bought Zenimax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Studios which is in charge of creating the game. Now, salty fans are signing a petition to make the game a PlayStation exclusive amidst ongoing legal trials and battles!

Starfield Was Nearly A PlayStation Exclusive!

The news does seem to hurt PlayStation fans since the game does look quite impressive. With the game announced as far as 2018, fans have been waiting for Starfield ever since. With Bethesda Studios working on the AAA project, the video game is well…a game changer for Xbox against PlayStation.

With Xbox and PCs getting the best of Starfield, a declassified document hurt Sony fans even more. After Microsoft Corporation’s conquest of buying companies, the case went to trial for Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. During the trial, many industry secrets came to light. One of these secrets was protecting PlayStation fans but since the secrets were out, fans couldn’t help but lament over the loss of a great game.

As per the declassified documents, before Microsoft bought Zenimax Media (the parent company of Bethesda Studios), Starfield was nearly a PlayStation-exclusive game! It was later that Microsoft swooped in and bought Zenimax Media alongside several other studios to hurt the PlayStation fanbase and make more games Xbox exclusives!

Starfield Petition Gains Over 3000 Signatures!

Although 3000 signatures are not enough to change Bethesda’s mind, fans are in awe of the attachment that people have to these video games often referred to as an escape from reality. An online petition on Change.org is aimed at making Starfield a PS5 exclusive again and canceling all other deals with Xbox and Microsoft Corporation.

At the time of writing, the petition stands at 3535 signatures to reach 5000. Benjamin Dickey, the person who started this petition, wrote four major reasons why Starfield should be a PS5 exclusive and not an Xbox exclusive. In other reports, the file size of the AAA game has been revealed to be 125 GB. And to add the cherry on top, it has been heavily rumored that the Call of Duty franchise may also become an Xbox exclusive shortly.

Starfield is set for a release date of 6th September 2023 and will be available to play on Xbox Series S/X and Microsoft Windows.
