The multi-talent actor, Cillian Murphy, who is known for his great work in Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy, claims he hates watching himself on the screen. It’s always kept his stars wondering how calm and quiet Murphy is in real life while he has often played roles that are in fact at the opposite end of the spectrum.

While chatting with The Guardian, Murphy revealed his thoughts about his upcoming movie.

“I am, yeah, I don’t like watching myself – it’s like, ‘Oh, fucking hell’ – but it’s an extraordinary piece of work. Very provocative and powerful. It feels sometimes like a biopic, sometimes like a thriller, sometimes like a horror. It’s going to knock people out, .What [Nolan] does with film, it fucks you up a little bit.”

Later in the interview, Murphy expressed his opinions and experiences not only on how the movie was made but on the problematic techniques that the Hollywood industry expects from any actors.

Cillian Murphy has always been very clear about his take on all things art and life and another thing he is clear on is his dislike of being on talk shows. The actor discusses how it feels totally unnecessary having to perform and entertain on a talk show. Read his full quote below

He adds,

“I want to just caveat this by saying, I’m so privileged. I’m so happy to be doing what I love. I’m really lucky. But I don’t enjoy the personality side of being an actor. I don’t understand why I should be entertaining and scintillating on a talkshow. I don’t know why all of a sudden that’s expected of me. Why?”

One can not disagree with actors like Cillian Murphy and his take on the above-mentioned issues. When it comes to actors, their acting skills in a particular film should be all that matter. However, an actor is compelled to perform on such stages to market themselves which has nothing to do with their acting skills. Murphy, however, has nothing to fear, whatever he does, his fans will go gaga over all his performances.
