Henry Cavill has been a fan-favorite way before his portrayal of Superman. An idol dreamboat with a Greek God physique, the 40-year-old actor has fans swooning over him from all around the world, especially loving his shirtless scenes in movies including Zack Snyder’s $873 million Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

However, the Man of Steel actor doesn’t really like being naked on the big screen. In an interview, when asked if he was comfortable being shirtless and showing a lot of skin on-screen, Cavill responded by saying,

“Are you kidding me? I had to start telling the producers, ‘Stop making me take my clothes off.’ One year they said, ‘For the publicity shot, we’re going to have you shirtless holding a horse.’ I said, ‘Why the f–k am I shirtless? My character has changed. He’s a morose, depressed dude.’ They’re like, ‘Yeah…but people love it.'”

Judging from his reaction, it’s rather obvious that Cavill doesn’t enjoy being n*ked or shirtless all the time, a request of his that should be respected. But being a superstar with fans who love his Greek God body, he has to do it, regardless.

Although he gets quite agitated at directors and producers trying to get him shirtless all the time for shooting movies, Henry Cavill also finds it rather flattering to be complimented on his physique. Claiming how he doesn’t consider it being objectified, the Batman v Superman actor said,

“I don’t consider it being objectified. If people like to see me with my shirt off, it’s enormously flattering. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to take my shirt off all the time.”

While he appreciates his fans for commending him, Zack Snyder‘s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice scenes where Henry Cavill had to shoot as a shirtless Superman did manage to piss the superstar off.

You can stream Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on HBO Max.
