Actress Elizabeth Olsen quickly became a fan favorite after her first appearance as Wanda Maximoff in Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Maximoff’s arc from foe to team member after losing her family was lauded by fans and critics alike. She returned to the MCU with Captain America: Civil War, where she had a romantic arc with Paul Bettany’s Vision.

Olsen’s Scarlet Witch had her most trying moments, much like the rest of the Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War. Post her face-off with Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, Olsen reprised her role as Wanda in the Disney+ series WandaVision. In the series, she accidentally creates a fictional reality where she and Vision are together and have a family with two kids, while the outside world tries to invade it.

After the series, Olsen appeared as the main antagonist in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. She unleashed her dark side in pursuit of America Chavez, a universe jumper to find a universe where her kids were still alive. The end of the film provided a bittersweet ending to the character’s arc.

Post the ending of Multiverse of Madness, there have been no developments regarding Elizabeth Olsen’s return to the MCU. In fact, any buzz or news seems to be pointing at Olsen being done with the role. When asked whether she missed playing the character, Olsen replied in the negative, saying,

“I don’t. I think it’s been almost 10 years of playing her. And I’ve loved it. And I think the reason why I am not calling Kevin Feige every day with ideas is because I’m really proud of what we were able to do.”

Scarlet Witch was also removed from the cover of the Marvel book, The Marven Cinematic Universe Official Timeline, without an explanation. The actress also said that she was not working on anything with Marvel in an interview with Variety,

“I’m not ‘returning’ to anything right now. I’m not doing anything for Marvel. Nothing, and it’s not that I’m trying to be cheeky. They’ll let me know when they’ll let me know.”

With this in mind, many DC fans have been demanding that the actress join the DCU. With the release of Blue Beetle, which is set to soft-reboot the franchise, there would be many opportunities for Elizabeth Olsen to join the universe. While most DC fans are hoping she would be cast as Zatanna, Black Canary, or Poison Ivy, Marvel fans are roasting the opposition with hilarious responses.
