Samuel L. Jackson is famous for two things: being the highest-grossing actor of all time and swearing quite a lot. His movies have collected more than $27 billion at the box office in worldwide collection – a total no actor is likely to overtake anytime soon. But when it comes to cursing, Jackson has been overtaken by The Wolf of Wall Street stars Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio.
According to a 2020 study by Buzz Bingo, Hill has said a swear word on screen 376 times, leading his co-star DiCaprio by 15 cuss words. At the time, Jackson sat in third position with 301 swear words over the course of his career.
The Coach Carter actor was made aware of these numbers during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. His reaction, as one would expect, was: “That’s some bullsh-t.”
Hill, who dropped plenty of F-bombs on Fogell in Superbad, also rarely shies away from forcing regulators to use the beep sound. But it’s still amazing that he has managed this feat despite such a short career in comparison to Jackson.
The big reason behind his and DiCaprio’s impressive numbers might be their appearance in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, the movie which was filled to the brim with swear words, s*x, and drugs.

Another thing Jackson is famous for is his love for Golf. He’s pretty good at it. So good that he once managed to beat the legend Tiger Woods.
The actor, during the same appearance (The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon), was asked by host Jimmy Fallon whether the rumor circling that he beat Woods was true. He sent the crowd into a frenzy by claiming he did. Jackson explained:
“It was a complete accident. The first time I ever played St. Andrews, they paired me with him [Woods] in what was the Dunhill golf tournament. I was a 16, so they gave me my 16 shots. And I shot 78 because he said ‘Follow me,’ and I stayed as close to him as I could and I shot 78. Which means I beat him by about 8 strokes.”
It won’t be far-fetched to say that Jackson beating Woods in a game of golf is a bigger upset than Hill toppling him as the actor with the most cuss words on the big screen.
