As Matt Damon took the stage to honor his best friend and fellow actor, he said, “It has been said that my friend George Clooney is the last of the true movie stars.” He went on to state several iconic actors who have also been Kennedy Center honorees, saying that they are known for their class and sophistication.

However, as he came back to Clooney, The Martian star wondered how his friend, who is known for defecating in a kitty’s litter box, made it to the list. “And then I think of George, a man who defected in Richard Kind’s kitty litter box as a joke,” he said.

Clooney shared the story about why he pooed in Richard Kind’s cat’s litter box during an appearance on the podcast SmartLess. He shared that he and Kind used to be roommates, and the comedian had a cat. While the actor shared that he found it hilarious, his roommate did not feel the same.

However, he also took the opportunity to reveal some of the pranks the Gravity star used to pull on his fellow actors, one of which included writing fake notes after he stole Bill Clinton’s stationery. The Departed actor said at The Kennedy Center

Damon further went on to state how he has loved every minute of working with Clooney, as he described him as one of the most talented actors he has ever met. He also said that it’s a privilege to work with him and call him his friend.
