Metal Gear Solid 3 was launched in 2004 and is considered one of the best stealth action games ever. Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta was finally announced in May 2023 during PlayStation Showcase after months of leaks and rumors.
Konami is aiming to create an experience similar to Metal Gear Solid 3 but with modern mechanics and immersive visuals. A new leak has now surfaced on the internet and states that Metal Gear Solid Delta is being developed using Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5.
Metal Gear Solid Delta is Using Unreal Engine 5
Metal Gear Solid Delta is releasing nearly 20 years after the original game and is one of the most-awaited games of the year. When the game was announced a few months back, Konami had described the game as a “faithful remake.” It also added that the game will have “the original voice characters, rich storyline and expansive features of combat survival in harsh environments evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound.”
A new report has now surfaced online and hints that the game is developed using Unreal Engine 5, which is important since Konami looks to evolve graphics and visuals in the game and also because the original game used Fox Engine. The user also added that the development on the game’s environments is done and it had been going on for over three years.

A Redditor going by the username u/Tough-Original1766 posted on the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, claiming to have been to Unreal Fest 2023 and talked to the developers working on Metal Gear Solid Delta. They stated,
“Managed to chat with a few developers who have also worked on the game. I will not be using their company name to put them in jeopardy. Just that they are one of the art studios who have mainly assisted the Konami’s Internal Development team with art.”
The user also shared some information about the game design and said that it has not been changed. They continued that the environment in the game is developed from scratch with the game largely being the same as the last and there is no open world. The main reason mentioned was the absence of Hideo Kojima, the director of Metal Gear Solid 3 and Konami was aware that any unnecessary changes would result in PR issues.
The Redditor claims to have spoken to the environment artist team of the game and they did not provide any details on the characters in the game or voice artists. Tough-Original1766 stated,
“They didn’t give information about the characters or VO. But they had no reason to believe anything about the story or acting has changed. They did say they saw the character models and mentioned they looked great with high poly art.”
The user also said that the developers mentioned the use of Level Streaming, meaning that the game could have seamless between levels, and added that a release date announcement could also be expected soon.
The users engaging on the Reddit post did not seem to be convinced and were skeptical with Meagflare writing, “Not saying you’re lying necessarily OP, but why would an art team risk their job and just start leaking details on a highly classified project to some guy?” Other users also raised questions about the claims and said the user could be blatantly lying.
No details have been revealed about Metal Gear Solid Delta‘s release yet. Konami is releasing the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, with the remastered version of the original Metal Gear Solid game as well as two sequels, and a couple of digital collectibles.
