During a Reddit AMA, co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer for the Netflix live-action series Matt Owens explained why it’s a huge f*ucking relief.
Bringing the adventurous world of One Piece to live-action was a challenging task, and due to the failures of previous live-action adaptations, they were against the odds. However, season 1 broke all the expectations set by the viewers and became a superhit, record-breaking show. He also promised to improve the quality of the upcoming season for viewers.

The expectation bore by the fans for the adaptation of their beloved series was truly off the charts, and the show owners managed to give it their best shot.
The show resonated with the feelings viewers had towards the anime and manga. They loved the final product and are eagerly waiting for more of it.
In a Reddit AMA, Matt Owens took time from his extensive schedule and answered some of the fans’ questions regarding One Piece live-action season 1 and upcoming seasons.

When will the season 2 of One Piece live-action be released?
Although fans expected the adaptation to turn out like the dozens of failed adaptations over the years, they were quickly proved wrong. Not only was the adaptation of One Piece Live Action Season 1 remarkable, but it also managed to be the best-ever adaptation of an anime.
It also broke several records on Netflix and gathered a staggering amount of watchtime while being the most-watched show in many countries.
Season 2 was announced a few days ago, and fans are eager to get any scoop on the upcoming season, whether it be dates, cast, or anything related. Unfortunately, no information has been released yet by Oda sensei or anyone from the Netflix team regarding season 2.
Following season 1, which took six years to produce, fans should be patient, as they want to see a smooth product of their beloved story.
