In Variety‘s Actors on Actors segment, Jennifer Lawrence explains how she read the script for the first time; the star was so overwhelmed by its depth and complexity that she threw it across the floor and didn’t even want it in her house.

“I watched it—yeah, that is really interesting. How it kept going and going… It’s just hard to take your eyes off it; it was just… Your acting in that movie—I can’t believe what you did. I can’t believe what you had to do. Because, if I was going to work every day, shooting that movie, I don’t think I could handle it.”
Sandler was particularly impressed by Jennifer Lawrence’s striking performance, which resonated with him emotionally.
“I was telling you, I like—there’s a couple of days that you know are gonna be whopper days. I kind of gear up for those days. I got, alright, I gotta get to that; we’re shooting that Wednesday. I hope I can handle it. You, everyday, seemed like it was—not everyday—but you had some stuff going…”
