The Kardashians have become ubiquitous in the media, from magazine covers to dominating social platforms. While the younger crowd is enamored with the Kardashian family, it seems Jackie Chan doesn’t even know who they are. A rediscovered video from 2017 serves as evidence of this.
For those unfamiliar, such as Jackie Chan, the Kardashian family consists of parents Kris Jenner, Robert Kardashian, and Caitlyn Jenner. The siblings in the family are Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner.
Jackie Chan Has No Clue Who The Kardashians Are
Regarding the resurfaced video of Jackie Chan, a Reddit post suggested that during an appearance on Access Hollywood Live with hosts Natalie Morales and Kit Hoover, the actor was asked about his favorite Kardashian. “We’re going to have you name your favorite Kardashian. Who do you like?” ask the hosts. To this, a clueless Chan replies (via Indy100),
“Kardashian? What do you mean Kardashian?… I don’t know. Is that English? I never heard that before.”
It appears that the Rush Hour star might be the only person on the planet who is unaware of the Kardashians’ existence. Perhaps even more surprising is the extent of his popularity in Hollywood and the entertainment industry throughout his entire career.
The interview in question took place in 2018, during which Jackie Chan was introducing his then-new film, The Foreigner. However, even then, the Kardashian family had already become pop culture icons.
Nearly six years after the initial interview, the Reddit thread r/MadeMeSmile revived it, prompting people to smile once more at the actor’s earnest response to a rather provocative question.
Is Jackie Chan Coming To the James Bond Franchise?
When Jackie Chan was set to take on the lead role in The Tuxedo, there was speculation among fans that it might position him alongside the famous James Bond actors, given that the film was subtly influenced by the Bond franchise. Additionally, in an interview with Cross Walk, the actor expressed his admiration for the character and his aspiration to emulate him.
“When I younger I always dream to be in James Bond movie. I love watching and dreaming about being him when I was younger. I say I want to be like him. I dream about saving the world, saving people, so I want to be like him and do those things. So in this movie I get to be James Tong and it fun to dress in tuxedo and be cool and have all the toys that make spy cool. I had good time making this movie because of that.”
With the franchise seeking a reboot following Daniel Craig’s departure, enthusiasts are conjecturing that the esteemed actor might finally get an opportunity to fulfill his long-held dream of appearing in a James Bond film, in one form or another.
