Six years into Fortnite: Battle Royale’s initial launch, the game will soon celebrate Chapter 4 Season 5. In anticipation of the same, Epic has been sending a mystery box to popular streamers’ addresses. This kit contains a few goodies related to the new season, a special message for the receiver, and a video clip of them playing Fortnite during past seasons.
Fortnite Season 5 will likely begin November 3. Until then, we’ve quite the ‘unboxing’ to do regarding gameplay changes, next season’s theme and what this mystery box holds.
Creators Open the Package to Find Some Familiar Fortnite Content
The box is everything the ‘old’ Fortnite: Battle Royale was all about – shades of blue, large fonts that say ‘WHERE WE DROPPIN’?’ and a message inside that reads:
Thank you for supporting us from the beginning and for being part of the origins of Fortnite. Now you have the chance to start again. Only one question left: Where do we fall?
Epic Games has been sending this package to famous creators like Salvatretzzo, Dr Disrespect and TimTheTatman. The entire kit marks a symbol of appreciation Epic Games has for creators who have been part of the game during its early days. These items include a vinyl record (that plays a tune similar to the original lobby music from Season 1), a carefully crafted ‘OG’ dog tag, and a set of ‘OG’ pins which include a gold variant of Chapter 1 Season X. This one’s exclusive to the employees at Epic.
The message regarding gratitude and hype for Fortnite Season 5 is important to the player base, as it hints at something large that’s about to happen. This may include returning maps, vehicles, weapons, and cosmetics that many considered to be ‘vaulted’ in the last few chapters.
What’s New in Fortnite Season 5? (Don’t Worry, Zero Build Is Here to Stay)
Based on the current season’s Battle Pass end date, we’re likely to see Chapter 4 Season 5 arrive on November 3, around 2 AM (ET). There will be a customary downtime right after the battle pass ends, which will lead to the new season.
While there’s no official announcement about Fortnite Season 5, Epic has a reputation for teasing upcoming Chapters/Seasons through loading screens, posters, and so on. If you take a closer look at the loading screen, ‘Within The Sanctum’, you can spot a date – July 12, 2018. That’s the date when Fortnite Battle Royale’s Chapter 1 came to be. It was called, ‘Worlds Collide’.
Clearly, Fortnite Season 5 will be a callback and a nostalgic trip to earlier seasons, and we can expect to see weapons and map changes based on that. This, combined with the special kit that creators have been receiving is a well-intentioned hype being garnered for existing Fortnite Battle Royale fans and those who are looking into the game.
Furthermore, a big rumor surrounding the removal of Zero Build mode is unlikely to be true. According to a reputed leaker, the mode is here to stay. Zero Build has been ideal for players who don’t like Fortnite’s building mechanics and prefer a traditional third-person-shooter gameplay style instead.

According to my information, Epic Games has placed zip lines throughout the Chapter 1 map to ensure that Zero Build is playable on the map without any problems.

Another reputed insider has hinted that Chapter 1’s return in Fortnite Season 5 will be reflective of ongoing map changes. As the season progresses, players will be able to witness changes in the map based on previous seasons every week. Gameplay-wise, players will also have access to the original loot pool that includes original weapons and mythic items. The end of Chapter 4 will likely happen with the end of Season 5, leading us to an entirely new Chapter in the months to come.
As usual, players will be able to purchase the Battle Pass in Fortnite Season 5 for 950 V-Bucks (roughly priced at $$7.99 / £6.99 that gets you 1000 V-Bucks). V-Bucks are Fortnite’s in-game currency that lets you purchase cosmetics like outfits, pickaxes, back blings, and so on. Upon getting the Battle Pass, players are rewarded with the ongoing season’s cosmetics that reflect the theme and certain filler items that hint at upcoming collaborations or gameplay changes.
