Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 recently included Yuji’s biggest bout of the season. This episode was all action from beginning to end, with hints of dialogue thrown in for good measure. From the first-person camera views to the flowing interactions between Yuji and Choso in a variety of settings, viewers were in for a visual feast. The fight itself was flawless, demonstrating Studio Mappa’s mastery of cinematography. Choso’s enigmatic blood manipulation technique comes to life on screen well, as does Yuji’s approach to tackling him and his technique.
However, the episode was much better than what Gege Akutami expected from MAPPA. Akutami was happy that MAPPA did a better job than Manga with the episode and brought their vision to reality in the episode. They also tweeted a special statement thanking MAPPA for bringing the fight to life in a more profound way than shown in the manga.
Yuji vs Choso in Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 13
The main focus of Episode 13 was Yuji vs. Choso, a long-awaited showdown between the final Cursed Womb Painting and the rising jujutsu sorcerer. The fight was tense and nasty, and Yuji was eventually vanquished. Choso, on the other hand, was not in the best form as a result. The fact that Yuji vs. Choso is a straight battle from start to finish is a major strength of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 episode 13. Except for Choso’s invented memories, there are no major flashbacks.
Choso’s memories are altered after receiving the final strike from Yuji, suddenly including Yuji as his sibling. This drastically changes their connection, and it’s unclear where those memories come from. The studio brought Akutami’s concept to reality by adding all of the important components and obvious references from the manga. The story, as well as the animation, was explained in great depth. Akutami expressed their thoughts about the episode and was quite happy about it and even thanked the studio.
Gege Akutami Expresses Gratitude To Mappa For Yuji vs Choso
A tweet shared by Akutami which was later translated by @soukatsu_ explained Akutami’s happiness for episode 13 especially the fight between Choso and Yuji. The tweet stated:
“Thank you for season two episode thirteen!!. This was such an opulent episode full of insanely beautiful animation and lighting!! There are so many young and talented kids!! [Tetsuya] Takeuchi, whom I talked about after episode 6, was also part of the staff!! I’m really glad Choso was way more persistent in the fight than in the manga!!”
Akutami was very happy with the episode and even talked about how Choso was way more persistent in the fight than in the manga bringing their original vision for the life fight. Episode 13 was indeed one of the best episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 and it’s all thanks to MAPPA for creating such a brilliant piece of art.
