Spoiler Alert: This article may reveal significant plot details from the Jujutsu Kaisen manga chapters
Naobito Zenin is a powerful sorcerer and leader of the Zenin Clan in Jujutsu Kaisen. During the Shibuya Incident, even though he’s drunk, he tries his best to stop the bad guys.
During the battle, Maki works with him, despite their differences. Nanami joins their team after learning about Gojo’s situation, and together they face a powerful curse named Dagon who has consumed many humans.
In Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 14, Naobito Zenin reveals his unique and modern powers for the first time. His Projection Sorcery is something entirely different.
How Naobito Zenin’s Projection Sorcery Works?
Naobito Zenin’s Projection Sorcery is a special skill from the Zenin Clan passed down to his youngest son, Naoya. It works by tracking movement at 24 frames per second, capturing anyone who breaks the rule within a frame for one second.
During that second, the user can plan specific movements within those frames. This makes the user seem exceptionally fast, even surpassing special-grade curses.
This technique is interesting because most people don’t know how it works. In the Jujutsu Kaisen series, characters tend to freeze when this technique activates because they unknowingly break the ’24 FPS’ rule.
While this skill is active, anything touched by Naobito‘s palm must follow the ’24 FPS’ rule when moving. If not, the target becomes immobilized and frozen in an animation frame for a second. Although it’s a short time, it gives a significant advantage in battle as the target becomes vulnerable to attacks.

Complexity and Limitations of Projection Sorcery in Jujutsu Kaisen
The technique’s main strength lies in its complex mechanism, making it tough for opponents to figure out during a battle. To counter it, one needs exceptional fighting instincts and a high battle IQ.
But this technique also has drawbacks. One limitation is that once the predetermined course starts, the user can’t change it. This is the first challenge to overcome. The second challenge is executing the predetermined move to avoid freezing. If the user ignores the movement path or the rules of physics too much, they’ll also get frozen.
Even though the Projection Sorcery technique is powerful, there’s one character in Jujutsu Kaisen who successfully countered it.
Naoya Zenin, who uses the inherited Projection Sorcery technique like his father Naobito, was defeated by Maki Zenin, a skilled curse tool user. Maki easily countered and defeated Naoya by understanding his technique, relying on her exceptional battle IQ and extraordinary senses.
